NTA GAME OF THE WEEK: Online at nta.fm or on the air at 100.5 fm
HARLEM (3-1) at BELVIDERE (2-2)
Last Year: The Huskies overwhelmed the Bucs on the way to a 40-21 win.
This Year: Belvidere really needs a win to stop the bleeding and get back in the win column. Harlem wants to keep rolling after dominating the Buc's cross-town rival last week. It's a good battle between two of the top NIC-10 qb's, which have almost identical stats, Garrett Hyser and Tanner DiGiovanni who both have over 630 yards in the air. The difference being one more interception on DiGiovanni's end.
OTHER GAMES THIS WEEK
BOYLAN (4-0) at FREEPORT (1-3)
Last Year: Boylan rolled to a 42-0 victory at Titan stadium
This Year After 4 weeks Boylan finally has it's first game against a team without a winning record. Steve McShane is a great runner for the Pretzels , but will that be a difference against the Boylan D which scored two td's last week, to go with a QB in Demery Croft who is more and more comfortable every week.
EAST (1-3) at JEFFERSON (0-4)
Last Year: East grabbed its only win of 2012 in a 44-37 thriller.
This Year: Both teams have struggled but East was able to squeak by Freeport, a team that had just beaten Jefferson in the previous week. With several of the "Big 3" looming on their schedules both teams may need this game to taste the win column again.
BELVIDERE NORTH (2-2) at GUILFORD (3-1)
Last Year: Guilford crept by North 34-27
This Year: Both teams may be reeling from losses but now they must have short memories as the season hits the halfway point and playoff positions and places are on the line. Guilford "d" allowed its first points of the year in a loss to Boylan as North got swallowed up by Harlem. Guilford's "d" has its work cut out for them as Jace Bankord leads the Belvidere North passing attack, one of the best in the conference.
AUBURN (2-2) at HONONEGAH (2-2)
Last Year: Hononegah's rush attack overwhelmed Auburn 47-29
This Year: It's not quite "must win"area yet.. but this game could go a long way in helping clinch a playoff spot. The conferences two leaders in rushing (Christian Lopez and Alex Martin) will try to get their teams above .500 and to the 3rd win.
OREGON (2-2) at LUTHERAN (3-1)
Last Year: Lutheran ran all over Oregon in Oregon 48-29 for a Big Northern West win.
This Year In order to get back in the Big Northern West top spot ...Lutheran must forget last week's loss to Bago and move on. James Robinson was "held" to his season low 113 yards at Bago but in the Big Northern anything can happen, and with games between Lutheran and Stillman as well as Stillman vs. Bago still left on the schedule, Robinson, Kendall Lawson, and crew must not underestimate anyone, much less a Hawks team that just beat North Boone.
