What's your favorite thing about Rockford?
• The number of locally owned restaurants. I also enjoy going to area antique malls. Sometimes not knowing what I am looking for, but finding something special.

What's something your listeners might be surprised to learn about you?
• I have been winter camping, as much for the challenge as anything else. I would like to go to Antarctica. I also love collecting wristwatches.

Mark was born and raised in the Chicago area. He got the radio bug from his 7th grade English teacher, Fred Mumaugh, who worked at WAJP in Joliet. When it came time to further his education Mark attended college at Western Kentucky University and then broadened his horizons and his intellect at Universite Paul Valery in Montpellier, France majoring in foreign languages. Mark has been awarded Associated Press awards for Best Newscast and Best Use of Radio Sound.
