Two men are now being charged with three recent armed robberies or attempted armed robberies in the Broadway Business District. Rockford Police say 28 year old Jerome Pruitt and 21 year old Victor Petty are charged with Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, and Aggravated Battery for last Tuesday's robbery at the Happy Shop at the 1500 block of Broadway and last Thursday's robbery at Reingolds Computer Store at 1224 Broadway. Employees at both businesses suffered serious stab wounds. Police say Pruitt and Petty are also charged with Attempted Armed Robbery for last Friday's botched holdup at the US Postal Service Office at the 1100 block of Broadway  Police say Jerome Pruitt is on parole from Cook County for a narcotics violation and Victor Petty is on parole from Peoria County for theft and obstructing justice.
