The City of Rockford declares a snow emergency. Public Works crews began plowing and salting arterials at 9:30 p.m.. Contractors began plowing residential streets at 2 a.m. today. Motorists shoukd follow at a safe distance behind the plows. The City of Rockford's emergency snow parking ordinance is in effect...meaning vehicles should be parked on the even numbered side of residential streets after 8 o'clock Friday morning. Vehicles parked in violation of the ordinance will be ticketed.
