Two people were killed and a third individual was injured in a single car crash early Saturday morning on Rockford's southwest side. Police say a car heading south at the 900 block of  South Winnebago Street left the roadway and crashed into a tree at approximately 1:43 this morning. Police say two female passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver was extracated from the wreckage and is hospitalized in serious condition. The names of the deceased and injuured indivduals have not yet been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
