Fire destroys a house in Machesney Park. The fire broke out shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday at the 1000 block of Colonial Drive. Investigators say the resident...76 year old Bertha Jackson...managed to escape the smoke and flames without getting hurt. The fire apparently started in the kitchen and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
