A lack of snow is prompting the Rockford Park District to cancel this year's Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition at Sinnissippi Park. The event had already been postponed from this week to next week but was scrubbed yesterday. Park District officials say a dozen teams were set to compete for the right to represent Illinois at the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition. Fifteen high school teams were also slated to compete. Park District officials say this is just the third time in 27 years that the local Snow Sculpting Competition has been cancelled.
