We'll get an update Monday on influenza activity in the Rockford area. Representatives of the Winnebago County Health Department and the Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford are holding a news conference at 10:30 Monday morning. Officials with both organizations say it's not too late to get a flu shot. Health Department officials say flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue. Health Department officials say most people with the flu have mild illness and don't need medical care or antiviral drugs. Health Department officials are recommending that people with the flu stay home and avoid contact with other people except to get medical care.
