Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey is officially a candidate for re-election. On Wednesday, the Mayor submitted to the City Board of Elections nominating petitions containing the signatures of approximately 2,000 registered voters. Morrissey was first elected Rockford Mayor in 2005. He is running for a third four year term. Morrissey is being challenged by Democrat Jim Hughes and Republican Michael Kleen.
