An elderly woman's good deed Tuesday backfired and resulted in the woman being the victim of a violent crime. Rockford Police say an 84 year old woman offered a man a ride from Loves Park to the Walmart on Northridge Drive. Police say once they arrived at the store, the suspect forced the woman out of her vehicle and drove off. Police say a Winnebago County Sheriffs Deputy spotted the suspect in the woman's vehicle at Perryville and Spring Creek. The suspect...identified as a 31 year old homeless man named John D. Leombruni...is charged with Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking. Police say the 84 year old woman was not hurt.
