Police have been reminding drivers that cell phone usage is prohibited by state law.

On Tuesday, police wrote four citation on cell phone use on Pierpont Avenue near Auburn High School. Tickets were also written for uninsured motor vehicle, suspended drivers license and speeding.

Police also wrote two citations around Whitehead School at the 2300 block of Ohio Parkway. One person was also cited for speeding in a school zone.

The Rockford Police Department says officers will continue to work details in school zones to assure compliance.
