The Winnebago County State's Attorney's office says 45 year old Todd Smith has been arrested and faces several counts of first degree murder in the death of his wife, 30 year old Katrina Smith.

Todd Smith of Machesney Park reported his wife missing in late October.  Her body was found in the Rock River a couple of weeks later and identified through dental records.

State's Attorney Joe Bruscato says the four, first degree murder charges carry sentences ranging from 20 to 100 years.  A concealing a homicide charges carries a sentening range from two to five years.

Todd Smith was arrested Wednesday afternoon while traveling in a car by Winnebago County Sheriff's Police.  His bond was set at four million dollars.  His first court appearance is set for Saturday afternoon.
