Rockford Police investigate an armed robbery to a southeast side business. Police say a man robbed Dollar General, 2500 South Alpine Road, shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday. Police say the suspect confronted a store cashier with something inside a sock and grabbed some cash from a register. No one was hurt and no shots were fired. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20's. He's 5'6 and 170 pounds. The suspect was wearing clear glasses, a black hoody, and a black stocking cap with red letters.
